My cousin got the boys something called ‘wikki stix’ when he visited us last month. They are made out of hand knitted yarn enhanced with a non toxic wax (www.wikkistix.com). Basically, they are thin waxy colored pliable sticks that can be bent, folded and shaped. They stick without any glue and can be reused as often as you want to.
I had not expected the boys to take to them the way they have and they really do enjoy playing with them..esp Sid (who carried them clutched tightly in his hand all the way from here to Lonavala). They are great to use, easy clean up and pretty non messy. We use them on the floor, on laminated writing boards, on windows panes and car windows too. They may leave a bit of a waxy residue that wipes off very easily. This keeps them occupied for good chunks of time and are great for some quiet play as well.
Definitely something i would get more of!
