silly moments

maybe this post should be called something else or i should have another post called sane moments because as i wrote it, i realized that most of our is made up of silly moments. Funny songs, farty sounds, bursts of giggles, horsing around on the bed…it is super silliness and we love it.

Yesterday i was at a litle shop in our market looking for fun hair clips for my friend’s daughter. As always, the boys were with me and they were so fascinated by all the pretty baubles and colorful hairbands and clips. Sid picked two shiny hairclips (one for himself and one for Nish). Then just as he was asking me to clip his hair with it, his eyes chanced upon a very shiny pink and purple hairband that had two shiny shimmering extensions with metallic ribbons on it. “That also!!!!” he exclaimed. And so here i was, a mother of 3 boys, picking clips and hairbands for my sons instead of this little girl. So we came home laden with clips and pins and very funky fancy hairbands.

The boys wore their hairbands as soon as we got home (they wore the fancy hairclips from the market to home) and then danced around the room singing gangnam style. After dinner and a bath, they settled down to read with the hairbands put back securely on their heads. I finally convinced them to take them off before they fell asleep.  Such a silly little hairband but oh so much fun!!

About myfourboysandme

Mom - a word that defines me... I smell of oats, johnson's and home baked cookies I am pink, purple, green and orange and so is the floor my kids color on. Flour on my clothes and a brush in my pocket, my glasses bent out of shape and smudged with tiny fingerprints. I can't remember the date but i know almost 40 pictures books by heart. I wake up humming 'wheels on the bus'and i talk with my fingers and eyes and mouth. My bag carries band aids, napkins, wipes, crayons, papers, candy and sometimes my wallet. I know all the parks and very few of the restaurants in my neighborhood. Most of my shopping is diapers, books and paints My phd certificate lies in a roll, the frame now contains an abstract work of art by two year olds and i am prouder of that piece of paper. mom - a word that defines me!

    • Dad just smiled…he is getting used to the madness and even joins in quite a bit now! There are days when all the boys are dancing like monkeys … the biggest and littlest boy included!
