Nish’s wheeze is back and he sounds really really bad especially at night. Fixed up an appointment for a pediatrician to see him this afternoon as he was especially unwell last night and threw up several times. From past experience, i decided against taking Sid along because he tends to run around and ask a zillion things while i am trying to figure out stuff around the place. So of course, he was really upset and burst into tears when Nish put on his shoes. As i was getting the medical file and papers together, he went and put on a nice shirt and a very mismatched pair of shorts, slipped on his crocs and went and stood by the door. It was heartbreaking but i really did not want to take both of them there so i i tried cajoling and then more firm “nos”

Nish obviously felt very sorry for his twin because he told me quite earnestly: “Sid is also not well mom…he has a cough!” He then turned to Sid and prompted him into action, “Show how you cough Sid!” Sid promptly obliged with a very very fake cough and a desperate look in his bambi eyes…oh…it is not easy being firm!

Finally struck a deal and i promised to read any 5 books out on getting back.

Mom - a word that defines me... I smell of oats, johnson's and home baked cookies I am pink, purple, green and orange and so is the floor my kids color on. Flour on my clothes and a brush in my pocket, my glasses bent out of shape and smudged with tiny fingerprints. I can't remember the date but i know almost 40 pictures books by heart. I wake up humming 'wheels on the bus'and i talk with my fingers and eyes and mouth. My bag carries band aids, napkins, wipes, crayons, papers, candy and sometimes my wallet. I know all the parks and very few of the restaurants in my neighborhood. Most of my shopping is diapers, books and paints My phd certificate lies in a roll, the frame now contains an abstract work of art by two year olds and i am prouder of that piece of paper. mom - a word that defines me!
